Google-owned online video streaming service YouTube has refreshed its iconic logo for the first time in years.
The company has ditched the red colour inside the “Tube” part of the name and places the ‘Play’ iconic to the left side of the YouTube name.
Google says the change allows the YouTube logo to work better “across a variety of devices, even on smallest of screens”.
Apart from the new icon and updated logo, YouTube has refreshed its desktop version, unveiled a new dark theme which turns the background dark while watching videos. This has been included for more ‘cinematic look’.
While, for the app users, the navigation tabs have now been added to the bottom of the screen to enable easier access to controls. YouTube app users on mobile can speed up or slow down playback of a video as per their preferred speed. FYI, this feature was available to Desktop users until now!
